Sandy Island

A whimsical miniature of Sandy Island on Lake Winnipesaukee, inspired by Hamilton's photographed camp map. Cream paper, green pines, ochre cabins, and a day of camp life.

Twenty-four campers have their own cabins and varied daily routines: shared facilities, meals, tennis, the waterfront, and an evening at the Lodge. This is an affectionate, simplified interpretation, not an official camp map or current schedule.

How to Play

Drag to turn, right-drag to pan, and scroll to zoom. On touch screens use one finger to turn and two fingers to pan or pinch. Overview restores the camera.

Select a building or camper, or use the exploration menu. Pause, choose a speed, or move the time slider to watch a different part of the day. Sound is optional and starts only when enabled. Camp time rests while this tab is hidden.

How It's Built

TypeScript and Three.js, bundled with Vite into static assets. A small connected path network and reproducible daily variation keep campers moving coherently without a simulation server. Each hour gives everyone time to arrive, then rest. A sun-and-moon dial shows the day, and seeded sunny or rainy days influence leisure choices.
